A little bit of everything

The Longer story about me

May 17, 2017

I was born in Jerusalem, a magical city in a beautiful little country that I was raised to love and appreciate. Growing up I developed a passion for hiking and nature, and by the time I was 17, I had already explored every inch of a country that has so much to experience. With traditional upbringing, my parents made sure that I knew the history of my people and taught me the importance of our religion, believes and heritage. Most of all I learned about being a family, sharing my life and sacrificing myself for the good of all. I have three older sisters and one younger brother. They are the gifts of my life. Each of them has their own unique personality which guided me in my life's path and contributed to where I am today. I am a little bit of all of them.
When I was 18 I joined the Israeli army. This was the most meaningful and important thing I ever did in my life until I became a mom. The army gave me an all new meaning to terms like willpower, responsibility, sharing, sacrificing, discipline and the love of country. I have no doubt that serving my county in the Israeli army made me a better person.   After 2.5 years in the army I felt ready to embark on a new journey. I studied law and business and graduated with a strong belief in my success. But, right before my legal internship, I decided to take a break from everything. I had 5 months to spent, and thought - why not practice my English in the states?
This innocent decision was the one that made the biggest turn in my life. I found love in a place I didn't even know it exist. From that moment I was on a roller coaster of emotions.. feelings... decisions all leading me to leave my country and my family and move. The hardest and easiest decision of my life was made. Today I live in Atlanta, sharing my life with an incredible and supportive husband and two perfect little girls. Today, putting aside all the struggles of being away from home, I am a mother.  Motherhood is my happy place, where my heart and mind find peace.
So why photography ? Ever Since I was young I was looking for ways to treasure my life, the people in it and all the different moments I share with my surroundings. I always believe there is and was a reason behind meeting the people I meet. I was always looking for those reasons and what I can take from each and every one of them. I treasured the importance of knowing the people that are in my life and the people that have left.  So I started  writing, since fifth grade and all the way through my adult life. I was writing about them and to all of them. It was when I became a mother that I realized writing is not enough. I wanted to capture the expressions, the innocent look in their eyes, their smiles and their shiny growing personality. It was when I was so far away from my family, yet wanting them to know my girls like I know them. So I took pictures. A lot of them... And I fell in love with doing it. Today I enjoy sharing this gift, allowing others to have beautiful photo, cherish magical moments, and tell the story of their loved ones. This is what I do and why I love doing it.
